The Australian Wine Research Institute is looking for a passionate individual ready to take their events and project management career to the next level. The Manager – Events and Projects leads a small team that delivers projects, events and courses for the grape and wine industry. The role also has a technical focus, managing databases and web applications, which requires proficiency across a range of software platforms.

The position
As the Manager – Events and Projects, you’ll play a central role in creating exciting experiences in the grape and wine industry. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading a small team of dedicated and creative events coordinators.
• Developing and delivering a variety of events such as tastings, seminars, workshops and webinars. You will see these events through from start to finish, managing budgets, schedules, logistics, glassware, advertising and travel arrangements.
• Developing and maintaining project databases, web applications and providing support to their users.
• Supporting our in-house wine show software, including testing new features, developing system design specifications and offering responsive helpdesk support to clients.
• Using data and feedback to continuously evaluate and improve the effectiveness and impact of our events and activities.
• Coordinating and delivering the workshops program at the triennial Australian Wine Industry Technical Conference.
