Affinity Labs (the commercial arm of The Australian Wine Research Institute) provides advanced analytical and consulting services to the food and beverage industry. We offer a comprehensive range of testing services, including chemical and microbiological analysis, plant health diagnostics, sensory assessment and export certification services for a wide range of global markets. Our NATA-accredited (ISO17025 and GLP) laboratories, based in Urrbrae SA, perform more than 100,000 analyses per year.
Affinity Labs is seeking applications for a Method Development Chemist within the Trace Analysis team. The successful applicant will apply their experience with advanced method development within a team that provides analytical services to clients from the food and beverage sectors. These services include analysis of components such as agrochemical residues, faults and taints and other quality markers. This role is focused on the development of analytical methods on advanced LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS instrumentation as well as improvements to current commercial offerings.
A relevant tertiary qualification in science at degree or honours level is essential, as well as at least three years’ experience in LC-MS/MS use, including troubleshooting, method development and validation. Qualifications and/or experience with accreditation systems such as ISO17025, GLP or TGA would be highly beneficial.
