Irrigation management is very important when growing grapes, especially when water supplies are scarce. It’s important to:
(1) Make sure your irrigation system is applying water evenly and at a known application rate
(2) Know which tools are available to apply water in the right amount at the right time.
AWRI, with support from Jeremy Giddings, Agriculture Victoria, is presenting a half-day workshop on drip irrigation systems for Punjabi-speaking wine-grape growers in the Riverland. The workshop will cover: system testing, maintenance, irrigation scheduling and management practices in a dry season. Overall, this practical workshop (which will be translated into Punjabi) will help growers to maintain production in a challenging water supply situation.
For more information about irrigation, please visit the new AWRI webpage containing resources in Punjabi: https://www.awri.com.au/industry_support/viticulture/punjabi-resources/
